We are proud to have our account manager Katie Roberts speaking out in support of Dyslexia Awareness Week.
Dyslexia is a lifelong condition that effects reading, writing and spelling, it is not a problem with intelligence, however people with dyslexia will require the right learning environment to progress.
“I was told at school in year seven, aged 11 that there’s no point putting me forward as I wouldn’t’ get any qualifications”.
Through my hard work to overcome any obstacles I achieved 12 GCSES’s grades A-C, then progressed to college where I achieved BTEC in Performing Arts with Distinction.
After 5 years with Virgin Media achieving promotions during my time there, then I found myself in a career in recruitment. I have enjoyed eight successful years in recruitment so far, and my journey is far from over.
My message to anyone with dyslexia, “Don’t give up, it might be more difficult for you than others, but it’s not impossible. Dare to dream!”
