What you’ll do
• Maintain strict internal controls over all day-to-day accounting operations – including Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, General Ledger, Revenue Recognition, Cost Accounting and Cash Management.
• Oversee month end reporting including financial statements – providing commentary and insights into financial variances and trends
• Assisting with the preparation of budget and financial forecasting and reporting any variances.
• Creating reports for management, identifying results, trends and forecasts.
• Oversee preparation of the year-end statutory accounts in accordance with accounting standards
• Ensuring all transactions are recorded, filed and reported accurately.
• Ensuring all reporting meets compliant standards with statutory law and financial regulations.
• Documenting business processes and accounting policies and continually improving the company’s financial controls to ensure effective financial governance and oversight across all transactions and processes
• Co-ordinating the management of cash flow
• Overseeing the annual audit process and liaising with external parties as required
• Support the business with ESG reporting requirements, including participation in the company Green Team.
• Support the Finance Director with reporting needs and other strategic financial input as necessary to support strategy and decision-making processes
• Lead risk management efforts to prevent and mitigate fraud and financial loss across the business
• Explore potential IT solutions or initiatives that could streamline financial processes, boost efficiency, and improve reporting quality
• Support the Head of Finance Operations and Management Accountant during periods of holiday or absence
• Performing other tasks and participate in ad-hoc projects as required by management
• Undertaking training as required

Experience you need
Qualified with ACCA or CIMA or equivalent professional accountancy qualification with post-qualification experience
Able to produce and review monthly management accounts
Up to date knowledge of accounting standards including FRS102
Able to use Excel to produce financial reports
Use of financial software such as Great Plains
Previous background within financial services
